Links to your website are often called the "currency of the web" because of their huge value. A big part of search engines' algorithms, which decide which pages rank for a given search term, is the number of links to your site, and the authority of the websites they come from.

Getting just a few inbound links can dramatically increase your rankings for key terms in your region -- terms that you want your site to show up for like "insulation," "energy audit," etc.

  • A few tips for driving inbound links: Use social media
  • Blog, or at least add "news" stories, occasionally. Interesting content is more likely to be linked to than your home page or services pages.
  • Talk to any trade partners about swapping links. If you have an insulation guy that you typically work with, or an HVAC company, offer to set up a link swap.
  • Local community colleges, training centers, or chambers of commerce may be willing to kick you a link. Don't be afraid to ask.
